About Me
Christina Chong, LMFT
I believe therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly clinical. It can be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, talking things through, and making sense of what’s going on in your life.
Background
I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Florida. I earned my M.S. in Marriage & Family Therapy and B.A. in Psychology from the University of Miami. My clinical training and early career included work as a primary therapist in outpatient and treatment settings, supporting individuals with anxiety, mood concerns, and life transitions. I also have experience in life coaching, helping clients clarify goals and move forward with intention. Alongside my professional work, I’m a mom of two, and in my roles as a wife, daughter, sister, and friend, I understand how full and complex life can feel.
Areas of Focus
In my practice, I work with adults navigating life transitions, stress, and relationship concerns. Many of the people I work with are not in crisis, but are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply needing a space to process everyday life challenges. I help individuals make sense of where they are in life, reconnect with themselves, and feel more grounded as they move through transitions.
I frequently support clients through periods of change, including early adulthood, pregnancy, postpartum, and evolving family roles. Areas of focus include anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem, relationship concerns, parenting-related stress, women’s issues, grief and loss, and identity development.
How I Work
My approach is integrative and tailored to each person I work with. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My work focuses on emotional processing, gaining insight, and developing practical strategies that can be applied in everyday life.
I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental, and collaborative environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Therapy with me is not about being fixed; it’s about having a space to slow down, talk things through, and better understand what you’re going through.
For clients who are interested, I also offer a faith-informed approach that can incorporate your values into our work together.
